Practicing What She Preaches:  Camacho-Ruiz
Expands JJR Marketing Consultants

AURORA – Marketplace moods are at their lowest point in decades – an ideal opportunity for aggressive businesses to add market share, says Jackie Camacho-Ruiz.
“You certainly can see things as very troubled these days,” Camacho-Ruiz admits, “but difficult times bring opportunities, and growth-minded entrepreneurs will take advantage of those opportunities.”
Co-owner and Make It Happen Director of Aurora-based JJR Marketing Consultants, LLC, Camacho-Ruiz practices what she preaches.  Her consulting firm is in the midst of rolling out a new e-Connection web marketing service that includes data entry, account tracking and reporting that are intended to make e-mail and other web marketing easier and cost effective for the company’s basic clients – businesses that range from professional practices to educational institutions, salons, and restaurants and other segments of the hospitality industry.
In addition, Camacho-Ruiz has built upon her real-life experiences as a young Hispanic woman and mother to help both local and national businesses reach out to the multi-billion dollar combined purchasing power of the Hispanic marketplace and the Millennial (20-Somethings) generation that, in fact, is larger than the Baby Boomer generation.
At the same time, Camacho-Ruiz has drawn upon her management sensibilities to bring together an eclectic group of business strategists, graphic designers and content providers who give her company experience and capabilities that many smaller consulting firms lack.  JJR Marketing has recently established strategic alliances with MalcolmWolf, an award winning Aurora graphic design firm, and with 121 Marketing Resources, Inc., a Wheaton marketing-advertising-PR consulting firm.
The strategic working arrangements have helped JJR Marketing Consultants transition from a one-person start-up it to a dynamic, profitable marketing consulting firm with expertise that is rare in the suburban business community.
Camacho-Ruiz also has been honored as a “top marketer for the hospitality industry” by Food Industry News and elected vice president of the International Food Service Executives Association, Northern Illinois chapter.

Jackie Camacho-Ruiz

With an ever-present smile and a make-it-happen attitude that has propelled her business, JJR Marketing Consultants LLC, from start-up two years ago to a recognized source of expertise for businesses seeking to reach a diverse marketplace, Jacqueline Camacho-Ruiz in many ways already is an Influential Woman in Business.  For example:

  • As a young Hispanic woman and mother, Jackie has built upon her real-life experiences to help both local and national businesses reach out to the Hispanic marketplace. . .the Millennial (20-Something) generation that, in fact, is larger than the Baby Boomer generation. . .and the new media that reach these demographic segments.

  • At the same time, Jackie has drawn upon her management sensibilities to bring together an eclectic group of business strategists, graphic designers and content providers who understand traditional and new markets – and media – to give her company experience and capabilities that many smaller consulting firms lack.

Consequently, JJR Marketing Consultants has transitioned from the one-person start-up it was to a dynamic, profitable marketing consulting firm with expertise that is rare in the suburban business community.

Like other outstanding leaders, Ms. Camacho-Ruiz is quick to share her knowledge and experiences.  She has, for example, given small business marketing “how to” presentations to members of the National Latino Education Institute; the Illinois Optometric Association; the Oak Brook, Chicagoland and Westmont Chambers of Commerce; and the Aurora Hispanic Chamber.  She was a featured presenter at a WHERE magazine event.

Her abilities have received important recognition.  Jackie has been honored as a “top marketer for the hospitality industry” by Food Industry News; featured in a Daily Herald column on marketing to Millennials – and in a later column on business resources; and elected vice president of the International Food Service Executives Association, Northern Illinois chapter.

There is no pattern that fits the women who have been honored by The Business Ledger and the Chicago-area NAWBO chapter, because the honorees have unique abilities.  So does Jackie Camacho-Ruiz.
